In the fall we are minutes away from the Apple Hill area where you can find great homemade apple pies, fritters and cider. You can also find some great arts and crafts made by nearby local merchants. Also here you can find some of the best wineries in California like Madrona & Boerger.

In the winter we are minutes away from great snow parks where you can take the kids for sledding. We are also 45 minutes away from Sierra-at Tahoe, a great place for all kinds of family winter activities. During the spring the local wineries host what is called "The Passport Weekend", where they have an open house at all the wineries for wine tasting and hors d'oeuvre. During the summer come stay with us and visit the great american River for white water rafting, Gold Panning and fishing. For other "big city" entertainment we are 45 minutes away from Sacramento and 1 hour away from South Lake Tahoe.

We are located within walking distance from numerous restaurants and coffee shops and from downtown Placerville where you can find some of the best antique shops in the Gold Country area. Also located in downtown Placerville is the old hangman where in the gold mining era criminals used to be hanged, thus the name of our town-"Old Hangtown". There is a historical museum you can visit to discover the history of our town.
